Information we obtain
Information you provide
We collect personal information that you choose to give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, company name, any project details you write in the message, and whether you would like an NDA or want to join our newsletter.
- Newsletter and download forms: your work email address and the page you signed up from. These forms accept work email addresses only. Providing the information is optional, but we can’t send you the newsletter or resource without it.
- Blog account (insights.wieldex.com): if you create a free account to comment, download an article as a PDF, or like a comment, we store your name, email address, and the comments and likes tied to that account.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or phone.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, the pages you request, and the date and time of your visit. We use this to keep the Site secure and working. Further technical data may be collected by cookies and similar technologies, as described below.
Work email check
To confirm that an email address is a real work address, our forms check the part after the “@” (the domain) against a public DNS service operated by Cloudflare. Only the domain is sent for this check, not the full address.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) are small files or code that a website places on your device. We use them in three ways:
- Essential: needed for the Site to work, for example the login and session cookies WordPress sets only if you create an account on our blog. These do not need your consent.
- Analytics: with your consent, we use third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site, which pages are useful, and how to improve them. These services use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location, and report on activity and trends.
- Advertising and measurement: with your consent, we use advertising and measurement pixels, such as those provided by Google, Meta or LinkedIn, to measure how our marketing performs and to show our own services to people who may be interested on third-party websites and platforms. These companies may place or recognize a unique identifier on your device.
Analytics and advertising technologies are switched off until you accept them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through our cookie settings, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Declining does not affect your use of the Site. To learn more about Google’s practices, visit policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
How we use personal information
We use personal information for these purposes, and we rely on the legal basis shown for each:
- Responding to your inquiries and sending you administrative information, such as changes to our terms and policies. Basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in running our business.
- Sending you our newsletter and industry updates. Basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the “unsubscribe” link in any email.
- Giving you access to resources you ask for, such as guides or templates. Basis: your request, and our legitimate interest in sharing useful content.
- Marketing our services to you and measuring how our marketing performs. Basis: your consent where required (including for analytics and advertising cookies), or our legitimate interest.
- Operating, evaluating and improving the Site and our services, including analytics, research, accounting, auditing and other internal functions. Basis: our legitimate interest, or your consent for cookie-based analytics.
- Aggregating and anonymizing visitor information for analysis. Basis: our legitimate interest.
- Security and legal compliance: protecting the Site, enforcing our Terms of Service, and meeting legal obligations. Basis: legal obligation and our legitimate interest.
If we want to use your personal information for a purpose not listed here, we will tell you at the time we collect it.
How we share personal information
We do not and will not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, email delivery, newsletter management, analytics and advertising measurement. We share only the information they reasonably need to do their job.
- Legal and safety reasons, where we are required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the Site.
- Business changes, if Wieldex is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We would tell you if your information became subject to a different privacy policy.
- Aggregate data that does not identify you or any other individual.
Third-party services
We use these services to run the Site. They handle your information under their own privacy policies:
- Hostinger hosts the Site and keeps standard server logs.
- EmailJS delivers contact form messages and signups to our inbox. Your message passes through their service to reach us.
- Brevo manages our newsletter subscribers and sends our confirmation, welcome and newsletter emails.
- Cloudflare provides the public DNS service used for the work email check, and may receive your IP address when your browser makes that request.
- jsDelivr delivers some scripts the Site needs to work, and may receive your IP address when it does.
- Clutch powers the client review widget in our footer, served from Clutch’s own domain.
- WordPress powers insights.wieldex.com.
- Analytics and advertising providers, such as Google, Meta and LinkedIn, if you accept those cookies (see above).
The Site also links to other websites and social platforms (such as LinkedIn, Facebook and X). Those services operate independently from us, and their own privacy statements apply once you leave the Site. We are not responsible for their practices.
International transfers
Some of the providers above may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on safeguards recognized under the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, to protect your information.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for, and as the law requires. In practice: contact form messages are kept while we are in touch with you and for a reasonable period afterward; newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe; blog account data is kept while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your rights” below).
How we protect personal information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please tell us immediately using the details in “How to contact us.”
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use your information;
- receive your information in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter or changing your cookie settings. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@wieldex.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr) or your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
